As anglers, our aim is to bring you exclusive fishing at day ticket prices. Book either the Mere or the Top Lake with a group of friends and enjoy a weekend, mid week session or indeed a full week in the heart of Essex, just 5 minutes off the A12 with plenty of local amenities.
Many anglers have to fit their fishing into a busy lifestyle and foreign trips, expensive syndicates and packed day ticket waters don’t always fit in with this! At Ashbury we believe we have the answer: the ability to share a lake with your friends at affordable prices and not have to worry about traveling or the angler next to you! Leaving you to enjoy your time on the bank in beautiful, secure, surroundings whilst angling for big UK heritage carp!
At Ashbury we are passionate about continually improving and managing the lakes to help them reach their full potential. The lakes are a major part of Essex’s carp heritage and have a track record for producing 50lb carp. We have invested in the future with a mix of handpicked VS, Spitfire cross Priory and Mike Willmott’s, Iconic Carp to complement the existing stock of stunning fish.
We have also taken spawn from the Mere and now growing them on to keep the heritage and legacy of fish like Hendrix, Not Cash, Little Joe and Baby Tango for the future, the first of these are due to be re introduced early 2023!
Now, 3 years into running/managing the lakes, the feedback we receive from the groups who visit makes all the hard work worthwhile. The vast majority of groups re book for the following year as we offer a first refusal on the same dates for the next year.

We also Run a small Syndicate along side the exclusives, we don't like to book every session out as we believe in the lakes having a certain amount of rest and recouperation, this helps with the well-being of the lakes and the fish, helping the younger fish thrive and grow to their future potential, so far it seems to be working with a number of fish in both lakes expected to hit the 30lb mark for the autum of 2023, some of which were stocked in the winter of 19/20 at less than 10lb.
